In the aftermath of the passing of Rav Menachem Mendel Schneelbag, Rov of Machzikei Hadas of Manchester, at the age of 100, the kehillah was left bereft of this giant who had led them for so many decades.
His appointed successor as dayan of Machziekei Hadas was his son, Rav Chaim Feivel Schneelbag, who has headed the Khal Avreichim in Monsey for many years, and has been one of Monsey’s most prominent Rabbonim.
But in inviting the mispalelim to the annual melave malka to support the beis medrash, which will take place this coming Motzei Shabbos, the Shul administration announced a most pleasant surprise:
“With great emotion we were recently notified that the rov will remain with us after all, for many long and healthy years. Therefore it is especially incumbent upon all of us to appear at the melave malka to express our appreciation toward our marah d’asrah.’
