Great excitement is being felt among talmidim and chassidim of Chernobyl in Monsey and beyond these days—as they celebrate the wedding in the Rebbe’s court, and a greatly-anticipated Shabbos in Monsey, the first in history of this newly established community.
It has been about two weeks since the opening of the Chernobyler Shtiebel in Monsey, a long-awaited event for the growing community there.
This Shabbos, parshas Tetzave, the Rebbe will be joining the chassidim there. The occasion is the Shabbos Shevah Brochos for two of the Rebbe’s grandchildren whose marriage was celebrated this week.
The Chosson is Menachem Yisroel Rottenberg—from the Kossoner dynasty—the son of one of the Rebbe’s daughters, while the kallah is the daughter of Rav Shmaya Yehuda Fish, a son-in-law of the Chernobyler Rebbe.
All the tefillos and tischen will take place at the Chernobyler Beis Medrash, located inside Yeshiva Me’or Hachaim-Viznitz, 230 Maple Avenue.
In addition to the large crowds participating from Monsey itself, hundreds chassidim from Brooklyn are making their way to Monsey to spend Shabbos in an atmosphere charged with holiness and joy.
