Annual Brush Burning Ban in Effect for New Yorkers Through May 14
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) issued an annual statewide ban prohibiting residential brush burning to prevent large brush fires throughout New York.
The annual brush burning ban prohibits residential brush burning will run through May 14.
The annual brush burning ban was enforced by DEC 2009 to help prevent wildland fires and protect communities during heightened conditions for wildfires.
