Rockland County Sewer Districts Receives $1 Million for Upgrades

The Rockland County Sewer District will receive $1,000,000 from a Stag grant from the Environmental Protection Agency; the funds will be used for a Screening Improvements Project, which will include replacing the three mechanical-type bar screens the Sewer District utilizes daily and upgrading the existing screenings building.

The funding, which was a measure supported by Congressman Mike Lawler, is necessary as the existing screens and conveyors have exceeded their useful life. By replacing this equipment and upgrading the building structurally, it will help the screening process and efficiency of the wastewater treatment plant.
