Credit Card Theft in Airmont Leads to Arrest of Car Thief

By Rockland Daily Staff

On Saturday, March 9, the Ramapo Police Department arrived at a home in the Village of Airmont to investigate the theft of several credit cards from the homeowner’s unlocked vehicle.

Subsequently, the stolen credit cards were used to make several purchases at numerous businesses in Airmont and Paramus.

Ongoing detective work led the officers to identify a twenty-nine-year-old Airmont resident as the suspect. As the investigation continued, several other instances of theft were discovered, including a stolen vehicle, all perpetrated by the same s over the course of last week, leading to the suspect's arrest.

The alleged thief was charged in connection with nine incidents in the Village of Airmont and also charged with larceny by the Spring Valley Police Department.

None of his offenses were bail qualifying, so he was released after being issued appearance tickets for a future court date in the Village of Airmont Justice Court.
