Rockland Daily Staff

Congressman Maloney, who's running for Congress NY17, attended a meeting in Rockland on Tuesday, October 25, to listen and understand what the community needs.

Issues that were raised included the need to upgrade infrastructure, sidewalks, the constant attacks against the Orthodox Jewish community, and discussions on how Washington can help with educational rights for private school parents.

Maloney was also commended for his help and the financial aid he secured for his current district for the past few years. Trustees were impressed by the congressman's ability to deliver tangible results and his ability to use the levers of power at his disposal to advocate and deliver results for his constituents. His relationships with the president to cabinet secretaries across the federal government aren't utilized for his own needs. Rather, they are used to help his constituents.

The large group of trustees and activists broke into a spontaneous and emotional celebration when Congressman Maloney was thanked for his leadership role in the campaign for Pidyon shvuyim. He was a leading member of congress who pushed and helped several heimishe Yidden obtain help under the First Step Act signed into law by President Trump.
