UPDATE: Car Rolls Down 30 Foot Embankment in Hillburn

The Toyota Corolla, which rolled down the embankment in Hillburn last night, was exiting the New York State Thruway and attempting a left turn onto Route 17 North.
As the driver failed to navigate the turn properly, she crashed through the guardrail and rolled about 50 feet down an embankment. The 80-year-old driver from Arizona was traveling cross-country with her cat. She was helped out of the vehicle with the assistance of the Hillburn Fire Department and checked out medically by Spring Hill Ambulance EMS before being transported with her cat to the Ramapo Police Station, where she was able to make arrangements to continue her journey.

A car rolled down a thirty-foot embankment at around 8:50 p.m. tonight on Route 17 in Hillburn.
Spring Hill Ambulance responded to the accident as dispatch reported that the driver was trapped inside the vehicle. While the ambulance was en route, the driver managed to extricate himself from his car and was found upon arrival by the EMTs to be conscious and alert without any injuries.
