This morning, Rockland County announced 24 Urban Green Space projects which are underway countywide.
The Urban Green Space projects include parks, gardens, and playgrounds.
“It is crucial to also invest in the mental and physical health of our residents by developing more urban green spaces, which is why I am proud to let residents know thanks to our Urban Green Spaces Grant, we can look forward to a variety of new parks and playgrounds across the County at no cost to local taxpayers,” Rockland County Executive Ed Day says in the press release
The project's funding comes through the County’s Rockland Resilient Recreation Grant Program and utilizes $10 million of federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds awarding Rockland municipalities and non-profits up to $200,000 for public urban green space investments.
