Uber received 3,824 reports of assaults throughout 2019 and 2020, the ride app disclosed in a safety report released Thursday.

In the ride app’s 78-page safety report, Uber revealed that approximately 91% of the assault victims were riders, and 7% were Uber drivers, Brooklyn News 12 reported.

Women made up 81% of the assault victims, while men comprised about 15% of those attacked in Uber cars.

The latest number of assaults in Uber cars decreased from the 5,981 attacks reported over 2017 and 2018, however, in 2019 and 2020, ridership also decreased significantly as a result of the pandemic.

While 2.3 billion riders used the Uber app in 2017 and 2018, that number dropped to 2.1 billion over 2019 and 2020.

Average trips on Uber fell from 3.1 million per day, in the first two-year period, to 2.8 million in the second-year period, when the rate of assaults decreased by 38%.
