Trees Topple Throughout Rockland During Extreme Wind Conditions

As high winds continue to blow throughout the region, Rockland residents are warned to beware. 

"We just had a miracle while driving in a taxi," a Rockland resident shares with Rockland Daily. "A tree fell on our vehicle. Baruch Hashem, no real damage happened, but when we got to the corner, a tree blocked the road, not letting us pass through. It feels like an absolute obstacle course out there."

Residents reported multiple downed trees and, in many cases, live wires that are blocking roads and bringing traffic in many areas. Emergency services are having a busy day on the road, from one incident to the next, including a particularly serious incident where a tree toppled on a vehicle, launching an emergency extrication progress.

In the meantime, the Orange and Rockland Utilities response team continues to be activated and deployed throughout the region.
