Thousands of Homes Without Power due to winds

Orange & Rockland Utilities report that 3,323 homes in Orange and Rockland counties are without power this evening after strong winds caused trees to fall, knocking down electric wires. 

 

1,323 homes in Rockland County alone were without power. 

 

109 separate outages were reported, and reports say that a transformer blew out, further complicating matters. 

 

An Estimated Time of Restoration (ETR) of 11:45 was given for Rockland County, as crews work to repair the downed lines, bringing power back online for thousands of our Monsey area neighbors.
