Skverer Rebbe of Flatbush Relocates to Spring Valley

by Yitzy Fried
Following decades of a presence on Ocean Parkway, deep within the Flatbush community, the Skverer Rebbe, Rav Yitzchok Twersky, will open the doors of his shul in Spring Valley this week.
The rebbe is the son of Rav Mordechai of Skver-Flatbush, who was the son of Rav Yitzchok of Skver, who came to Boro Park in the 1920’s. He follows a tradition of warming the hearts of American Yidden for more than a century, and the move to Spring Valley is being welcomed by residents of the area.
The shul is located at 26 Twin Avenue, Spring Valley. Kabbolas shabShabbos this evening—the inaugural shabbos—will be at 6:25, the tish on Friday night will be at 10:00, and a special kiddush will be given on shabbos morning in honor of the opening.
There will be regular weekday Minyanim in the shul as well.
