Skverer Chassidus Establishes Fund to Assist Widows and Orphans With Dignity

By Yitzy Fried

Following Pesach, when Klal Yisroel turns their focus on honoring and respecting their fellow Yidden during the yemei haSefirah, a special organization was established within the Skverer chassidus which will provide substantial sums to almonos and yesomim in the event of the tragic loss of their breadwinner, R”l.

“Lehachyos,” to sustain, is the name of the organization, and the Skverer Rebbe has handpicked the Rabbonim and executors of the organization who will present the plan to the winder kehillah and oversee the operation of the fund.

The fund has as its starting goal to have 1000 member families within its ranks. In the event of a tragic loss within the group, $150,000 will be awarded for each orphan in the home, with payments being spread over a number of months. To become a member, you have to undertake a certain amount of money per orphan in case one of the members passes on to the next world.

This plan—which has been carefully developed by the askonim—will have the dual benefit of providing for orphans and widows in a dignified manner, as well as providing peace of mind to all its families that they are covered in the event of a tragedy, R”l.

In his address to the askonim, the Skverer Rebbe expressed his brochos that “we should be ‘yotzei’ with our good intentions, and chas v’sholom never need to avail ourselves of the services of this fund.”
