BDE: Rav Yitzchok Stern u"h

By Rockland Daily Staff

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Rav Yitzchok Stern, a renowned Viznitz Chasid in Monsey, who passed away this morning at the age of 87.

Rav Yitzchok served as a Mashgiach in yeshivas for many years, beginning in Bnei Brak during the time of the Imrei Chaim of Viznitz, and later spending some years in the yeshiva in Kiryas Tosh, Canada. He was a Marbitz Torah throughout his life, as well as a Mechanich with a profound understanding of the education needs of the generation.

He was a devout Chasid known for his simplicity and erlichkeit, and he was particularly renowned for his eloquent speeches, where he shared thoughts, Dvar Torah, and stories from the rebbes of generations past. He had a unique ability to transmit these teachings to the next generation with his captivating speeches. The Viznitzer Rebbes often referenced him in their speeches, saying, "I heard from Reb Yitzchok Stern..."

Rav Yitzchok had been in good health until this Shabbos Chol Hamoed, when he went into septic shock due to an infection. Despite showing signs of improvement throughout the days of Pesach, he sadly passed away this morning, leaving a family and community in shock. Just last night, a tenoyim took place where his grandchildren became engaged to each other.

The Levaye will be held at the Viznitz Shul at 6 PM.
