Rockland County launched the "Rockland Thinks Differently" initiative last week.

The new initiative that was adopted is modeled after Dutchess County. The endeavor promotes awareness and acceptance of all people and advocates for the inclusion of individuals with special needs. The county is now calling upon business owners and residents to join it in its initiative to show support for children and adults with special needs, and their families by making facilities and services more accessible. The county initiative will also advise businesses on how to train staff to welcome and support special needs customers and co-workers.
