RC District Attorney’s Office Now Receives Anonymous Crime Tips: Via Text and App
By Sarah Morgenstern

Rockland County residents who are hesitant to call the police to report information about crimes now can report their tips to the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office anonymously via text or app.

All of the identifying information of callers and texters is removed through tip411, a crime-fighting tool that more than 1,500 other American communities also use to reduce crime.

“Officers don’t receive any identifying information about you,” Rockland Country Government posted on Facebook. “Not your name, not your phone number, not your address: nothing.

Now RC residents can send anonymous tips by texting 847411.

Then, residents with information about crimes should type in the keyword ROCKLANDCODA, add a space, type their tips, and hit send.

Alternatively, residents can also submit anonymous tips by downloading the free
“RocklandCo DA app” for iPhones and Androids.

The app’s link for iPhones is: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/rocklandco-da/id1298716026, and https://play.google.com/store/apps/details for Androids.
