Ramapo Police Arrest Armed Assailant in Airmont

Earlier today, Ramapo Police were called to a location in Airmont, where a person was held against their will by an armed assailant. A child was there together with the victim, and was also held.
The victim sustained injuries as a result of their being held, and was treated at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern.
The assailant was identified as Joel Santiago, and he was arrested at the scene.
Among the charges leveled against him by prosecutors is kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, aggravated criminal contempt, criminal possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child, and assault.
Santiago was remanded to Rockland County Jail.
