Monsey Fire Dept. Graduates new Members

In its effort to expand its volunteer base to serve an expanded area of Monsey, the fire department launched an outreach campaign to recruit more members from the community.

“Three years ago The Monsey Fire Department implemented its Exterior Firefighter program as a way to involve and recruit members of our community that weren’t previously able to join due to religious beliefs,” read a statement from the Monsey Fire Department. “The program has been a rousing success and the firefighters are an integral part of our department.”

Recently, a fresh group of volunteers graduated through this program, and the department saluted them upon this occasion. “Congratulations to our recent BEFO graduates who worked hard through nights and weekends for this accomplishment,” their statement said.

The new members are Dov Oberlander, Shloimy Margulies, Alter Hoffman, Yedidya Appel and Samuel Hoffman.
