Legislator Wieder: ‘Please Consider Donating To SV Fire Victims’ Relief Effort’

Rockland County Legislator Aron Wieder calls out to residents and businesses to please donate to the relief drive created to help 30 families after the building blaze in Spring Valley this Wednesday left them without a home.

“I thank Firefighter Humphrey and all of the first responders whose quick actions ensured a positive outcome instead of a tragic one,” Legislature Wieder said. “Thanks to their heroism, a child and multiple families were kept safe and reunited.”

Weider acknowledged SVFD for its efforts in successfully preventing a tragic outcome, however, the fire has still displaced multiple families who need our assistance.

A relief drive was set up to help families replace what was lost to them in the blaze which caused heavy smoke damage.

The following items are requested: baby clothes, formula, diapers & wipes; bottled water; toiletries and personal hygiene products; toys for kids; and gift cards so those impacted can purchase other items they need.

Items can be dropped off from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Friday at Spring Valley High School on Route 59.
