Hatzoloh's Forshay Garage Will Have Newly Refurbished Ambulance Ready for Calls by Pesach

By M. C. Millman

Hatzoloh of Rockland's Forshay neighborhood will have a newly refurbished ambulance ready to take calls in time for Pesach.

The all-white ambulance, with temporary plates, boasts a totally refurbished box mounted on a brand-new chassis. The newly refurbished ambulance needs a new paint job and some time to replace and reorganize the regular equipment held in the back. Then, it will be ready to hit the road in the Forshay neighborhood as it goes back into service just in time for Yom Tov.

"Remounting old boxes in good condition is something all ambulance corps can do," a Hatzoloh member shares with Rockland Daily. "As long as the box is in good condition, you can usually remount it once or twice before it has to be retired. It's a great way for Hatzoloh to save on expenses as the organization has been growing so fast, it's hard to have enough ambulances to keep up with the demand of the growing neighborhoods."

Remounting the box means fixing all the cracks and dents in the metal, sanding it down, mounting it on the new chassis, and rewiring it. Then it has to be rewrapped with the Hatzoloh logos as the newly refurbished box comes back all white.

The ambulance will be strategically stationed in the heart of the Forshay neighborhood on Grandview and Route 306, ensuring swift and efficient emergency response time during the busy Yom Tov season and beyond.
