Dee Voch MEGA Shavuos Edition Packed with Fascinating and Inspiring Features and Photos

By: Yehuda Alter

As we approach Shavuos, preceded by Shabbos, Dee Voch—the most popular Yiddish magazine—presents a mega edition with 400 pages packed with riveting content.

The Dee Voch magazine features an expanded array of hundreds of photos from kehillos and chassidic courts around the world—giving a glimpse into the rhyme and rhythm of life within these communities.

Dozens of events—including visits of Admorim to one another, chassidic courts marking the yohrtzeits of their predecessors, celebrations of great Torah accomplishments, simchos in chassidic courts, and so much more—are covered in this project.

The Shrift magazine features two major landmark projects. A historic, first time interview with the Viznitzer Rebbe of London, conducted by R’ Tuvia Freund who flew especially from Eretz Yisroel to England for this interview. The rebbe, who was in the hospital at the time, in need of a refuah sheleimah, discussed the burning issue of bachurim who could not make it in the yeshiva system. He also expressed a plea for peace and love among Klal Yisroel, lamenting machlokes that has sprung up in a number of communities, unfortunately. A second project is an overview of about fifteen major mashpi’im in Klal Yisroel today.

Other columns in the Shrift include a Shabbos in Guatemala with a community of Geirim, memories from R’ Yosef Yisroel Herzl, z”l, from the Holocaust and its aftermath. Literally dozens of columns, deeply interesting and riveting, fill the rest of the Shrift magazine.

The Kinder Shrift does not either disappoint. It leads with a conversation with Rav Chaim Yosef Biderman, shlit”a, of Lelov on the sweetness of Torah–in a way that speaks to children. An interview with the legendary Aron Kodesh master, R’ Simcha Paluch is just one of many columns geared directly to the children, inspiring and engaging them on topics that are at the heart of Yiddishkeit.

This edition must be read to be believed, and copies are flying off the shelves already. An increasing number of families are opting to receive Dee Voch each week to their door by subscribing.
