Boyaner Shul Installs Aron Kodesh Replicating 200-Year-Old Menorah

By M. C. Millman

A uniquely awe-inspiring aron kodesh was installed last week at Kloiz Chasidei Boyan on Yale Drive in Spring Valley.

The aron was commissioned and crafted in Indonesia. It is modeled after Rabbi Avrohom Yaakov Friedman (1820–1883), the Sadigura Rebbe’s menorah from Ukraine. The Boyan Dynasty stems from the Sadigura Rebbe.

The new aron arrived in parts which were put together last week. It has yet to be stained. However, an additional replica of the menorah placed at the shtender for the shaliach tzibur is a finished product and adds to the overall impressive nature of the shul built l’kadish shaim shamayim.
