Annual Sukkos Chol Hamoed Greater Adventures Learning Program

M.C. Millman

Greater Adventures are certainly to be had as New Hempstead and Wesley Hills shuls join together for the annual Sukkos Chol Hamoed learning program.

The beautiful display of limud and kavod hatorah takes place every day of Chol Hamoed Sukkos from 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. and from 11 a.m. - 11:45 on Hoshana Rabbah. Over 100 boys participated on the first day along with fathers and grandfathers.

Greater Adventures is held at Knesses Yisroel on Union Road in New Hempstead, and the program is open to men and boys of all ages. Daily raffles for impressive prizes are awarded to the attendees who were truly deserving for having spent a portion of their Chol Hamoed learning.

Rabbi Dani Staum, coordinator of the Greater Adventure Learning Program, told Rockland Daily, “Instead of spending the Chol Hamoed morning wondering what to do that day, attendees all decided to spend an hour using Chol Hamoed for what it was really intended.”

As in past years, Wesley Hills and New Hempstead shuls participated in the program this Chol Hamoed. Many of the rabbanim of the local shuls participated in person as well.

The Greater Adventures learning program is always a beautiful event of kavod shomayim.
