By: Rockland Daily staff
The fierce winds thag have pounded the northeast all night have taken their toll—and this morning, Pomona, and neighboring towns are out of power.
Orange & Rockland Utility, the power provider to the area, put out a map that indicates the area that has lost power, and cautions the public to stay clear of downed electric cables, the cause of the outage.
O & R also noted that in total, as of Friday morning, 957 customers are out of power. The cause being downed trees.
The utility company estimates the time of power restoration at 3:00 this afternoon, which will give shabbos-observant customers power in time for shabbos, but likely not enough time for shabbos preparations.
