Village of Spring Valley Pre-Pesach Serefus Chometz and Garbage Pickup Schedule

Village of Spring Valley Pre-Pesach Serefus Chometz and Garbage Pickup Schedule

by Mindy Cohn

The Village of Spring Valley will hold its annual Serifus Chometz event on Monday, April 22, at Spring Valley Memorial Park.

The chometz burning will begin at six a.m.

Veterans Drive at Main Street will be the only entrance into the park from eight a.m. until twelve p.m. Veterans Drive at Dr. Berg and at East Church Street will be the only way to exit from the park from eight a.m. until twelve p.m.

"We hope and believe that since we're implementing a new traffic pattern designed especially for serefus chometz, the whole experience will be much smoother," Spring Valley Village Trustee Asher Grossman shares with Rockland Daily. "In addition, we'd like to remind everyone that there's a large parking lot available on Memorial Park Drive, and you can just walk over from there to the burning site. An easier Srefas Chometz experience will bring a calmer Erev Yom Tov!"

The Village strongly suggests that people should not wait until the last minute to arrive at the park to burn their chometz.

The village's Pesach garbage pickup schedule will take place today, Friday, April 19, Sunday, April 21, and Monday, April 22.
