Village of Nyack Drive Enourages Residents to Recycle

Village of Nyack Drive Enourages Residents to Recycle

Tomorrow night, Wednesday, April 3, and  Wednesday, April 10,  the night before recycling days, Nyack resident volunteers will survey Nyack homes to leave friendly door hangar reminder notes where no recycling bins have been put out for pickup.

The door hanger notes promote the free recycling bins that are available at the Nyack DPW. Residents can also call 845-358-3552, leave their address, and have a recycle bin delivered. The door hanger note includes a link to Rockland Green, the agency that collects curbside recycling in Nyack.

The initiative's goal is to boost the rate of participation in the village's curbside recycling program. Every ton of recycling saves the village $99 in garbage tipping fees and helps reduce the community’s carbon footprint.
