Update on Road Closures and Power Outages in County

Power outages and road closures continue to affect thousands of Orange and Rockland Utilities customers throughout the County.

Germonds Road in West Nyack near Demarest Mill remains closed as Orange and Rockland Utilities is on the scene clearing downed tree wires and replacing the transformer. 617 Customers are affected in this area, from Clarkstown  South High School up to Felix Festa and Boces. Orange and Rockland has indicated that the road will be closed most of the day while repairs are underway.

A tree has fallen in New City on Ridge Road near Long Clove Road, resulting in a widespread power outage affecting 982 customers from Conger Avenue in Congers to South Mountain Road in New City. The Clarkstown Police Department was on site to place portable generators at the traffic lights on Route 304 affected at Ridge Road and Route 304 and 9W and 304. Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. is on-site but expects the road to be closed for several hours as primary lines are affected.
