Sukkos Gathering Held for Local Community Leaders and Askanim

Local elected officials and askanim of Rockland County attended a Simchas Bais Hashoeva event hosted by community askan Meyer Tauber at his home in Montebello.

Attendees included Congressman Mike Lawler, Senator Bill Weber, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for County Executive Ed Day Steven Powers; Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht; County Legislator Aron Wieder; County Legislator Joel Friedman; District Director of Lawler's Office Rafi Silberberg; Commissioners of the Monsey Fire District Yanky Fliegman and Shimy Singer; Rockland County clerk Donna Silberman; New Hempstead Mayor Abe Sicker; Pomona Mayor Elan Fuchs;   Village of Wesley Hills Mayor Marshall Katz; Chestnut Ridge Deputy Mayor Chaim Rose;  Pomona Deputy Mayor Mendy Lasker; Airmont Deputy Mayor Shimon Moses; Montebello's Deputy Mayor Stacy Caridi; Chestnut Ridge Trustee Shmuli Fromovitz; Village of Spring Valley Trustees Yisroel Eisenbach and Asher Grossman; Airmont Trustees Isaac Weiss and Morris Friedman; Village of Kaser Clerk Binyamin Mermelstein; Askan Yossi Gestetner; Satmar Activist Yehuda Leib Zorger;  Activist Tzvi Waldman, and Askan Mendel Drummer.

The evening began with an exclusive closed meeting between Congressman Lawler and the local Village representatives. The group discussed community affairs, working together, and Village and local offices. 

Yossi Gestetner introduced attendees, thanking everyone for their work for the community and for making the community work for the benefit of the people in a way that the local government did not work ten years ago.
