Speeding Driver Indicted in Fatal Crash Leading to Rockland Teen's Death

By Mindy Cohn

A speeding driver from Queens was indicted yesterday in a deadly crash that took place last month in the Bronx, killing two people, including a teenager from Rockland County.

Queen's resident, Enrique Lopez, age twenty-three, faces assault, manslaughter, and criminally negligent homicide charges after reportedly speeding and doing stunts before crashing his 2013 Chrysler 3000 into a fuel truck. The crash killed passengers Sabrina Villa-Gomez, age fifteen, from Nanuet, and a twenty-one-year-old from Brooklyn. Another passenger,  Aaliyah Torres, age seventeen, of Spring Valley, was critically injured.

Lopez's driver's license is suspended, and he is due back in court in June.
