Rockland County Requests Resident Input for Hazard Mitigation Plan

Rockland County Requests Resident Input for Hazard Mitigation Plan

By Rockland Daily Staff

Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services requests the public's participation in creating the county's draft for the upcoming Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The public review period for the draft Hazard Mitigation Plan began in March and extends through April 18.

The project's goal is to save lives and property by reducing hazard vulnerability for Rockland County and its municipalities. During the planning project, county and local leaders and the community are meant to work in tandem to identify risks, assess capabilities, and formulate a strategy to reduce disaster vulnerability.

Public participation and feedback are vital parts of the hazard mitigation planning process.

Residents can visit the county webpage to view and comment on the plan here
