Ramapo Police Apprehend Suspect Wanted for Multiple Car Thefts

Ramapo Police detectives arrested a suspect who stole a vehicle from a mechanic shop in the Village of Airmont last week.

The victim reported that the 2021 Nissan was unlawfully stolen from the parking lot at the mechanics. Through investigative work, detectives identified the suspect and linked the 23-year-old to another larceny that occurred at Walmart several hours earlier.  The suspect was arrested while still in possession of the stolen vehicle.  The detectives took custody of the thief on the open charges, and the vehicle was returned to the owner. 

The suspect was arraigned and issued an appearance ticket pending a future court appearance.
