Pre-Purim Packing by Monsey Fire Department Volunteers

Pre-Purim Packing by Monsey Fire Department Volunteers

by M.C. Millman

Monsey Fire Department volunteers made it their business to help with the food boxes that are going out for Purim to hundreds of Rockland County families in need.

The Purim packing was nothing out of the ordinary for the half a dozen or so Monsey Fire Department volunteers who are on hand week after week filling boxes with food for Shabbos for Tomche Shabbos of Rockland County - volunteers volunteering to lend a hand to another organization that can use their assistance.

Wearing their regular firefighter gear in case they need to take an emergency call, the Monsey Fire Department volunteers might have to leave in the middle, but that doesn't mean they won't return to see the job through - week after week, serving the community through chesed and helping to make sure the job gets done right.

"We’re invested in making sure that people in this neighborhood are taken care of on all fronts." Mike Humphrey, President of Brewer Fire Engine Co. #1, the fire company of the Monsey Fire Department, shares with Rockland Daily. "I continue to be amazed and proud of our members for putting time into assuring that everyone is safe and has the support of our members in their time of need. Our members put their heart, body, and soul into making sure people’s lives are better."
