Two incidents took place in Rockland County last night and in the early hours of this morning in which Ramapo Police made arrests for drivers under the influence.

Last night at around 10:00, the Ramapo Police Department received a call for a car situated on a lawn on Haverstraw Road in Montebello. When the officers arrived on the scene, the driver told the officers she didn’t know how the car arrived at the front door of the home.

There were pills scattered on the front seat, and the driver showed signs of intoxication. The 30-year-old Wesley Hills resident was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Aggravated DWI with a test result twice the legal limit.

At 2:30 am., a Ramapo Police officer made a stop for a moving violation. When the driver exited the car, he was aggressive and confrontational, shouting at the officer to shoot him. The officer had no choice but to enter into a physical encounter with the driver, who was then transported to the hospital for evaluation.

The 48-year-old Nanuet resident is being charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration, Disorderly Conduct, and DWI.
