Piermont Experiences Worst Flooding Since Hurricane Sandy

The Village of Piermont was hit hard by tidal flooding from Friday night’s storm, combined with runoff from the rain hitting already saturated ground after last week's stormy weather.

Yesterday morning, former State Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick spoke to Village Trustee and Piermont Fire Department member Nate Mitchell and former Piermont Fire Department Chief Dan Goswick, who said it’s the worst flooding the village has experienced since Hurricane Sandy.

“I’m hopeful the village will be able to take advantage of funds from the Environmental Bond Act we passed in 2022," says  former State Senator Reichlin-Melnick, "and I look forward to fighting for additional state funding for all communities dealing with persistent flooding.”
