O&R's Emergency Response Team Is on Standby

Orange and Rockland Utility's emergency response team has been activated and deployed since 6 a.m. this morning.

Two hundred additional overhead line contractors are standing by in preparation for upcoming wind gusts of 20-30 mph throughout the day. Higher wind gusts of up to 50 mph are also possible throughout the day, which may lead to downed wires caused by downed tree limbs.

Rocklanders are warned to stay away from any loose or dragging wires and report service interruptions by texting “OUT” to 69678.
