Monsey Fire Department Featured on Cover of National Magazine

The Monsey Fire Department is seen hard at work on the cover of the December issue of Firehouse Magazine, a national firefighter magazine.

The eye-catching cover photo, captured by Kenny Flynn, features firefighters Refoel Levi, Mendy Friedman, and Yossi Kelner preparing to tackle a fire at 19 West St on October 2. In this particular cover photo, Kenny captured the moment the firefighters were stretching out the first line to combat the fire.

Kenny Flynn, who not only creates albums and magazine industry-related photos but is also a volunteer firefighter in Rockland County, captured the picture of the Monsey Fire Department. Flynn takes photographs of major fire incidents around the county.

On his Instagram, Flynn thanked Firehouse Magazine for selecting his photo. He wrote, "Always appreciate being able to get our local volunteers some press, especially on the cover of a nationally distributed magazine."

This is the second time this year that the Monsey Fire Department has been featured on the cover of Firehouse Magazine. Last year, the Monsey Fire Department was on the cover of Fire Engineering Magazine.

"It's a national magazine, which goes to show you that the Monsey firefighters are repeatedly being recognized for their aggressive efforts as fighters," Eli Ribowsky, Monsey Fire Department officer, shares with Rockland Daily, "and speaks  to the quality of the workmanship we have here at the Monsey Fire Department."
