February's job openings in the U.S. dropped to the lowest level in nearly two years.

According to the Labor Department, as of the last day of February, job openings, traditionally used as a measure of labor demand, decreased by 632,000 to 9.9 million, the lowest level since May 2021.

The largest job opening declines were in business services, healthcare and social assistance, transportation, warehousing, and utilities. Openings in construction, recreation, and entertainment rose. Layoffs declined.
