Hatzoloh CEO Meets with Town of Ramapo Supervisor to Discuss Details of New Tax Break for Ramapo Emergency Personnel

Rabbi Yosef C. Golding, CEO of Hatzoloh of Rockland, met with Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht on Tuesday to discuss the details of the new property tax exemption benefit available for all fire and ambulance volunteers that are residents in the Town of Ramapo, as reported in Rockland Daily here.
When asked by Rockland Daily why he felt the meeting was so important, Rabbi Golding answered in a heartbeat, "Rockland Hatzoloh members are on the frontlines for us day and night, weekends, whatever the weather...and they are all volunteers! Shouldn't they be granted a little bit of relief in paying their real estate taxes?"
The meeting was a direct result of the Town of Ramapo passing a new law to allow for a ten percent tax deduction for emergency volunteers.
"It was great to see Rabbi Golding this afternoon," says the supervisor, "and provide him with first responder tax exemption application forms to give to Hatzoloh volunteers. I told Rabbi Golding how much the Town Board and I appreciate the great life-saving services Hatzoloh provides to our residents every day, and we discussed how the new law will benefit our volunteers."
