Downed Tree Pulls Down Live Wires Resulting in Monsey Power Outtage

Emergency personnel are at the scene where a downed tree pulled down live wires at Highview Road and Windover Lane in Monsey. 

O&R is working to restore power to the area as rapidly as possible while the Ramapo Police Department is on hand to prevent drivers and passersby from going near the downed wires.

The traffic lights in the area aren't working, resulting in a heavy traffic backup in all directions.

O&R estimates that service will be restored by 4:57 this afternoon.
