Annual Pre-Pesach Meeting at Ramapo Township

Annual Pre-Pesach Meeting at Ramapo Township

BY: Rockland Daily Staff

As Pesach approaches, many details regarding preparations in the community need to be arranged and coordinated.

To this end, a meeting was held between community leaders and the leaders of government agencies at the Ramapo Town Hall in an effort to ensure that the community will enjoy the Yom Tov with peace of mind, and in a safe and secure manner.

The meeting was led by Town Supervisor Michael Specht, with the participation of representatives from police and fire departments, public works, village officials, waste management, and others.

A separate meeting was held at the new Park and Ride to plan the massive sereifas chametz operation for the upcoming Erev Spesach, in which representatives of the Highway Department; Monsey Fire District and office of emergency management participated. This year there will be a special system to ensure that all Ramapo residents can fulfill sereifas chametz undisturbed—and preparations are being made so the Park & Ride can accommodate the many vehicle and human traffic who will make their way there next Friday (details of the plans will be publicized in the coming days).
