The East Ramapo Central School District's revised budget revote passed by a wide margin yesterday.
The preliminary results of the 2023-2024 East Ramapo Central School District $295 million budget vote show an approved budget with 1994 ‘yes’ votes and 768 ’no’ votes.
The original budget was defeated by a mere 45 votes in May as reported by Rockland Daily here. The revised budget met with widespread community support, as the initial spending plan was cut by around three million dollars, allowing for a zero percent school tax levy and no increase in taxes as explained in detail by Rockland Daily here.
"We are immensely grateful to the East Ramapo Central School District community for supporting our district and the revised 2023-24 budget," ERSCD official state, "By passing the revised budget, residents help the District continue to support the long-term goals in the areas of academic instruction, social-emotional learning, and operations. Thank you for your support of East Ramapo and for helping us maintain the schools that our students deserve."
