BREAKING! Arrest of Alleged Murderer of Hershy Schwartz a"h

By M.C. Millman

The tragic murderer of Hershy Schwarz a'h on February 19,  as reported by Rockland Daily here, was arrested last night in Jacksonville, Florida.

The 22-year-old, Louis Redmon Antuwn, who has a criminal record for prior armed robberies, will be extradited to Miami Dade County.

Police sources shared with Rockland Daily that Hershy Schwartz was not targeted; the robbery was a crime of opportunity. The criminal saw Hershy sitting in his car and shot him to facilitate the robbery.

The murderer’s arrest took three months as multiple police departments worked together to collect enough information to get the warrant issued. The multi-department investigation concluded that Antuwn acted alone in the murder.

Antuwn lives in Jacksonville but was in North Miami Beach on February 19. He took advantage of Hershy sitting in his car in a deserted parking lot and took the opportunity to shoot him and rob him of all personal belongings.

"It took the hard work of multiple departments to conclude this case with the arrest of this thug," Mark Rosenberg, Police Chaplain, tells Rockland Daily.

The North Miami Beach Police Department was assisted by the Miami-Dade Police Department, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, US Marshals, and especially the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office.

The Miami State Attorney will oversee and prosecute the case after concluding that Antuwn was solely responsible for the murder and pursuing his arrest, thereby bringing some small form of justice to Hershy's family for the senseless murder.

“This latest development brings great closure to the family and to the Jewish community,” Rosenberg says.

Rosenberg expressed his gratitude to all the departments who worked relentlessly to catch the killer.

“It was not an easy task,” he concludes.
