By Rockland Daily Staff
Hershy Schwartz, a”h, a forty-year-old chassan and son of Rav Nuchem Schwartz of Monsey, was found dead in his car Sunday morning after being shot during a holdup in a North Miami parking eleven days before his wedding.
The niftar was the coordinator of Chesed Shel Emes's Shiva Gemach in North Miami. He was engaged to be married on March 1 in Lakewood.
Hershy's lifeless body was found in his car Sunday morning at around 9:00 a.m. The car had been cleaned out of valuables. There is no surveillance footage of the area.
Known for his passion for serving the community and willingness to help others, Hershy was an active member of William Paul Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps, the Brewer Fire Engine Company #1, and Chaverim of Rockland before moving to South Florida.
Police are investigating the murder and do not presently feel antisemitism played a role in the murder.
“We are shocked at the loss of Hershy, an outstanding member of our organization,” Dovi Katz of CSE told Hamodia. “We join his family and the rest of the North Miami Beach community in mourning his tragic death.”
