Rabbi Yisroel Gottlieb, principal of secular studies at Yeshiva Ohr Reuven, was one of ten educators honored by Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick with a Champions of Education award.

The Champions of Education Awards Celebration took place this past Sunday, October 23, at Boces in Nyack. The Senator's annual ceremony celebrates local educators honored for the work they do to inspire and educate students in the 38th Senate District.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to name ten educators in the 38th District as Champions of Education," the Senator tweeted. "As a former teacher, I know the hard work, dedication, and long nights that go into the teacher. Each person recognized today continuously goes above and beyond for their students."

Rabbi Gottlieb was recognized for his work at Yeshiva Ohr Reuven in Suffern, where students' many accomplishments include excelling at the Regents year after year under Rabbi Gottlieb's exemplary oversite.

"As a proud parent of two Yeshiva Ohr Reuven graduates," Joel Petlin, Superintendent of the Kiryas Joel School District, shares with Rockland Daily,  "I know that Rabbi Gottlieb is well deserving of this great honor."

"I am deeply humbled and honored to have been counted among the true heroes of our community," Rabbi Gottlieb shared with Rockland Daily. "I am especially grateful to Senator Reichlin-Melnick for recognizing the shared values of excellence in education across diverse elements within our broader community."
