Willow Tree Park In Wesley Hills Undergoing Repairs

By Idy Perl
Frequent visitors of Willow Tree Park in Wesley Hills will be excited to hear that the park is currently undergoing extensive repairs to prepare the park for the spring and summer season.
Firstly, new handicapped accessible walkway has been completed from Amsterdam Avenue to the park so that all residents can easily access and enjoy the park. The iconic pier on the lake, which had been showing signs of disrepair, has been completely revamped as well, and the path leading down to the pier is currently under construction and not accessable. The benches throughout the park, both along the path that circles the lake and on the pier, will be getting fixed up and redone with a fresh coat of paint as well.
The Parks and Recs department is also in works with the Highway Department to expand the current parking lot to allow for additional parking and to repave the path around the lake.
“We are adding these enhancements to Willow Tree Park as part of our ongoing program of meeting with our residents so that we can best upgrade and expand all of our park facilities throughout the Town, in ways that best meet the needs of the people who use them,” Town Supervisor Michael Specht tells Rockland Daily.
