Watermain Replacement Underway in New Hempstead

Veolia has begun work on replacing a water main on Summit Road until 11 Oakwood Terrace to improve system reliability. 

Water quality and fire flow water service in the area will be maintained throughout the project, except for brief periods. If there is any interruption, the affected residents will be notified beforehand.

The water main upgrade will disrupt parking and impact traffic, but accommodations will be made to facilitate vehicular traffic. The work began yesterday and should be finished on or around May 24. Work will be done between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Drivers should use caution while walking or driving near the construction site.
