Village of Spring Valley Announces $200,000 in Funding for Kennedy Park Playground Development

By M.C. Millman

This morning, the Village of Spring Valley announced the procurement of $200,000 in funding to purchase playground equipment for ages 2-12 for the Kennedy Park off of Old Nyack Turnpike in Spring Valley.

The funding from the American Rescue Plan (ARPA) will be used to purchase and install playground equipment on the park grounds that are presently empty.  Four bidders were on hand to review and provide bids for the project by Thursday, September 7.

“The Village is very appreciative that the County understood the need for the development of Kennedy Park,” Yisroel Eisenbach, Village of Spring Valley Trustee, shares with Rockland Daily. “I would like to thank the Village staff, the mayor, Paul Brennon, director of purchasing, and our community development team for working towards this goal – and succeeding. A park is very much needed in this area, and its development will enhance the neighborhood tremendously.”

No start date or estimated completion date was shared during the announcement.
