Update 2:06 p.m.:

A message was sent out by United Airlines stating:

"We have identified a fix for the technology issue, and flights have resumed. We’re working with impacted customers to help them reach their destinations as soon as possible."

Original report:

United Airlines has issued a ground stop order for all United flights due to a computer issue, according to the FAA.

The order went into effect immediately, with no time given thus far for when flights are expected to resume. No reason was shared by the airline for the ground stop order other than "equipment outage".

"We are experiencing a systemwide technology issue and are holding all aircraft at their departure airports," United shared in a post on X. "Flights that are already airborne are continuing to their destination as planned. We will share more information as it becomes available. Thank you for your patience as we work on a resolution to get you on your way as soon as possible."

Thousands are stranded in airports worldwide waiting for updates.
