By M. C. Millman

Update: March 1 - 11:42 a.m.

The second thief wanted for breaking into a string of cars and attempting to break into homes as well in the Village of New Square earlier this week has been arrested.

Both timely arrests were due to the unstinting efforts of the Ramapo Police Department, which worked round the clock to bring the perpetrator to justice.

The assistance provided by Ershte Hilf on the scene, including gaining access to camera footage throughout the Village, played a key role in the prompt arrests as well.

Details to follow as they become available.

After yesterday's arrest by the Ramapo Police Department of one of the two suspects wanted for a string of overnight vehicle break-ins in the Village of New Square, as reported by Rockland Daily here, the individual was charged in the Village Justice Court in Wesley Hills.

The charges brought against him include multiple larcenies as well as attempted burglary. Bail was set at $50,000. As of now, the suspect has been unable to post bail and, therefore, remains behind bars in the Rockland County jail.

There has been no word thus far on the recovery of the stolen valuables.

The second suspect involved in the incident is still at large.
