UPDATE: Pedestrian Struck by Train on Dutch Lane

Update: 11:03: a.m. -Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the victim, whose identity has not yet been released, succumbed to his wounds shortly after arrival at Nyack Hospital.

The MTA Police Department is investigating the crash.

A pedestrian was struck by a train at Dutch Lane near Route 59 this evening at around 9:55. 

Due to the severe nature of the emergency EMS called in a chopper to transport the victim to the hospital, taking the patient to Spring Valley High School, where the medivac landed not long after.

Minutes before takeoff, the patient went into traumatic arrest and was instead transported immediately by an escort to the Nyak Hospital as it was the closest option - canceling the helicopter transfer.
